Dr. Douglas M. Anderson has been creating beautiful and technically excellent smiles since 1988. A native of Utah, his values go back to the farm, where early on he learned how to work hard as the eighth of ten children. The Anderson fences were the straightest and the sturdiest in the county, and that eye for exactness and the value of a job well done has always been Dr. Anderson’s approach.
Education was highly valued in the Anderson home. After graduating as valedictorian from South Sevier High School, Dr. Anderson attended Brigham Young University. He took two years out to serve a mission for his church, then graduated from BYU in 1982.
Dr. Anderson went on to dental school at Baylor University in Dallas, where he distinguished himself by graduating in 1986 with second highest honors (cumulative four-year GPA). Then he sought a place in an orthodontic residency program (an opportunity offered mainly to those who graduate in the top 1% to 5% of their dental school class), and chose to stay at Baylor.
A Passion for Orthodontics
Dr. Anderson knew that he had found his passion in orthodontics. He completed his two-year curriculum in 1988 with a perfect 4.0 grade average and earned his master’s degree in craniofacial biology/orthodontics. He opened a practice in the Taylorsville/West Valley area in 1988 and expanded patient care to South Jordan in 1996.
